How do advances in technology affect warfare? How does warfare affect technology? What examples do you see in today's world?

Technology is everything, if we didn't have technology.... we wouldn't have technology..jk..
Technology never ends, we will be in need of something, so some scientist or inventor will invent something to help with that, and then you'll think, man this really isn't all that good, we could do better so they use that thing and improve on it to make it even more useful and much easier to use, and it'll never end, it'll just keep getting better and better.
And in warfare, if we didn't have technology, wars would take much longer because fighting with nothing but swords and bows, that would take forever to conquer a whole city or country, but with bombs and guns, to destroy a city all you need is one bomb, so a few seconds to drop and the city goes kaboom!! So we are always in need for more and more technology, the more we have the better, but also if we get some cool high tech machine, it won't help that much in the war because the other side would probably also have it so it would just even out again.. so ya!!!

Music

Ok well i was thinking of what to post about and while i was thinking i was listening to music and then all of sudden i thought! how about i write about music. and so i'm writing about music, ok well my favorite is hip-hop/rap.. barely any alternative, but pop is ok to, hip-hop can be an aquired interest, like an acquired taste, some people won't like it very much but if they just start listening to it then they're hooked, not to everyone but some people, ya. I just loved it the second i started listening to it i was hooked. My parents don't like me listening to it cause it's bad, and i totally agree, some of it is pretty dang bad, bbut if i listen to a song a couple times then i don't really hear the words enough to actually understand what it is saying, (one good thing from having horrible memory) and at first i was like "no way, it don't talk about bad stuf, but then i started listening to songs over and realized it actually does, but i really don't think it's affected me negatively. In fact the reason i like it so much, is actually, i know hard to believe but some of them are actually inspirational! :) some talk about good stuff, er at least not bad stuff, like a song, "2 pac - Changed" talks about problems in the ghetto and what's going on there that is wrong, and "runaway love - ludacris & Mary J" talks about girls with problems, like abusive parents, and other stuff and just what they should do, and on my itunes i got plenty, and i'll admit i also have quite a bit of not so inspirational ones, but another good thing about hip hop/rap, is that if i'm feeling depressed or stressed and i just can't get that off my mind, i listen to those songs, it is probably the best way i can think of to get that stuff off your mind, or to help me think about it if i want, but that usually doesn't happen, i'm sure this works with other genre's of music, but i just haven't tried, so ya, i'm pretty much obsessed with hip/hop -rap, it is my life, all i ever do..24/7

Eragon

Just to conclude with Alex's post about eragon..
um actually just to correct you a little, the reason why roran didn't just go in and capture Katrina was because eragon was freaking holding him back, and he knew that if he went he would die and not ever see her again... so i'm pretty sure he's not gonna want to go in there without a plan and knowing he'd die and never see her again. So waiting and planning was a actually a pretty good plan.
and if you haven't read that book..then read it..it is really good, the writer has got some amazing skills, you may have to be pretty skilled reader cause it's pretty complicated. It's got some awesome action and intense scenes, so ya read it guys>>>

Just my week

k well i am bad at thinking of ideas to write about for posts so i'll just write about my week and try to write something inspirational, but that probably won't happen. Ok well i had an F in chemistry so i didn't really do anything but try to study for that class, but usually my average week goes like this, i wake up take a shower, get dressed, get my school stuff ready. Play computer or just listen to music, and then try to call shotgun before my sister does. But she usually wins, and so i have to stay in the back of the car listening to the scriptuers..ugh, sorta boring, and then i go to school and do school stuff and go to classes, and don't sluff of course, and then i stay after school for math, and then go home and hope my mom decides to take me to wendy's. wendy's is my absolute favorite thing in the world, i could eat there every freaking day if i could, i actually did for a while but then my friends decided to go to arby's instead of wendy's all the time, but arby's got some dang good mac n' cheezers, i suggest you guys get some of those. k well i get home do a little bit of homework go lift weights, or go swimming, then come home try to concentrate on homework but get carried away and start playing grand theft auto san andreas. and that is a typical day in stefano's life.!! peace homies

Perfect Society

When we talked about perfect society's in class we talked about how groups aren't good, like the skaters, the druggies, the nerds, loners and etc. but i think that is a good idea. As long as every one belongs and has a group or some friends and aren't loners. So if everyone has a group of people to be with, then we'd have people of every kind in your society and that's just what you need to progress. you would have business people, strong people for stuff like being cops, and so you would have someone for anything. and the owner of the society (or leader) has to make sure everyone is living fine, as in not being poor, so if someone doesn't have enough money, then he either gets some money from the government or the gov will take some money from people who have more then they need, and then pay them back later on...so ya!!! if you want a perfect society, abide by mine!!!

Gunpowder and the Printing Press

I think they are both really important but gunpowder is way more important, gun powder lead on to many different more advanced inventions, but the printing press...there's not much important stuff that came with it after. And what power does the printing press have? Gunpowder has much much more, it's much more intimidating unlike the printing press. I don't know much about these things so that's why this is way retarded. You guys can disagree.

Ali Baba and the forty thieves

The book ali baba and the forty thieves is way cool. i love like the intensity of that book, and how something interesting actually happens unlike all the other books we read. It's the type of book you can get stuck on maybe and read on instead of doing it cause you have to. The part where the girl goes and sees the dagger and starts dancing and stabs the dude and...the end...

Should religion be used as a reason for war?

I don't think religion should be used as a reason for war. I'm pretty sure most religions are against wars and violence, and like solving things peacefully, and war definetely isn't very peaceful. So defenetely no.

Why are some books considered holy while others are not? What does it take for a book to be considered scripture? Can some books be considered inspire

I think that depending on your religion if they say that the book is holy then you can think it's holy. But if it's something you read a lot, and not just a book that you read once in your life but one that you are reading quite a lot. But not twilight, that is NOT a holy book. And if it has good teachings and stuff like that

Koran

The quran is pretty cool, i think it is totally worth reading. We are learning about muslims and islam. Isn't the religion based off of the quran, then why NOT read it. It is the best source of information for us to use. And it's cool to compare it to the bible and see the difference. and ya.

Grendel

I think grendel is freaking sweet! i'm way glad we read it. So we could see different point of view. If you just read what grendel was on the beowulf point of view it makes you think he's evil and absolutely horrible, but if you read the grendel book, you realize he's not as bad as you think and you get to like him better. I wish they did that type of stuff with most other books..but oh well

Beowulf

Lot's of people read books and don't really pay attention to the little details, mostly just the more important things, which is still good, but i was reading beowulf the other day and i somehow decided to pay more attention to what i was reading instead of thinking about other stuff, and i realized the book was a LOT better then i thought, i focused on the little details as much as i could and it actually made the story creepier and more interesting, and it made me really want to read it more.!

I'm Not Really Sure, Just Some Random Stuff

Socratic is a Really cool class, it's a lot better then the history and literature classes in public school, it's way more interesting, we get to read cool books like les mis, and beowulf, i don't know if you can do that in other schools but it's still a cool thing. and the teachers are also way cool. And that's about it, i'm pretty bored so ya... well peace homies!!!

Why bother with Socratic Seminar?

• I should bother studying world history.
• I should bother studying literature.
• I should bother studying language arts.
• I should bother studying geography.

World History: You can't go through your life without knowing anything about the world history, you've got to know what's going on. Some things now are soon going to be history that people will be learning about later on.

Literature: The more you know literature the better, you can never know enough literature. I think that literature is one of the coolest things ever. You get to read about the exciting adventurous lives of all the people in Greece, Rome, also all the god's and their different powers and what they are god's for.

Language Arts: Language Arts isn't the funnest thing but it sure is an important thing. You don't want to go apply for a job and start talking to him like some twelve year old, that definitely wouldn't be good. And writing is also important, for school and for everything else.

Geography: It's important to know where things happened, people are different in different places, people in America do things differently then all other countries just because that's the way people in that country do things, and that's the way it is for all places, so where you are is an important thing.

sorry i'm not very good at this type of stuff so it isn't very good. But I'll get better!! :)
